Made in America · Ad Hoc with GSA and OMB
Making Federal Procurement Waivers Public
A public one-stop shop for Buy American waivers, replacing a slog through the Federal Procurement Data System.
Fifteen years spent taking information that matters — federal procurement, patents, insurance, philosophy — and giving it a structure people can actually navigate. I designed the original Made in America website for GSA and the Office of Management and Budget. It's live at madeinamerica.gov, still doing the job it was built to do.

Innovation Alpha · Aon, then Moat Metrics
Sole designer on an enterprise platform that reads a company's intellectual property and tells you how strong it actually is.

Khora · Palinode Productions
Thirteen people, a card sort, and a tree test decided how an open-source philosophy platform would be organized.
I don't hand a team my best guess at a navigation scheme. I interview the people who'll use the thing, watch them group it themselves, then test whether the structure I derived actually holds. It usually needs fixing, which is the point of finding out early.

Read more →I've spent fifteen years designing digital experiences that solve real problems — a public procurement site for GSA and OMB, an enterprise platform that reads patent portfolios, an insurer's move from paper to digital. What connects them is a habit rather than an industry: I like finding out what people actually need, then building a structure that gets them there without a fight.
When I'm not designing, I play competitive cornhole and train for marathons.
